Here's my choice for this week!
Children of Jubilee
(Children of Exile, Book 3)
Margaret Peterson Haddix
Hardcover, 320 pages
November 6, 2018
Science Fiction, Young Adult Fiction
Kiandra has to use her wits and tech-savvy ways to help rescue Edwy,
Enu, and the others from the clutches of the Enforcers in the thrilling
final novel of the Children of Exile series from New York Times bestselling author, Margaret Peterson Haddix.
Since the Enforcers raided Refuge City, Rosi, Edwy, and the others are captured and forced to work as slave labor on an alien planet, digging up strange pearls. Weak and hungry, none of them are certain they will make it out of this alive.
But Edwy’s tech-savvy sister, Kiandra, has always been the one with all the answers, and so they turn to her. But Kiandra realizes that she can’t find her way out of this one on her own, and they all might need to rely on young Cana and her alien friend if they are going to survive.

Why I can't wait for this one!
What can I say? It's YA science fiction!! I ESPECIALLY love this combination!! Besides, I've seen all those AWESOME covers with the name "Haddix" boldly printed on them. So I got hooked, of course!! Now I have to catch up with book one.....
Be sure to catch the rest of the
Children of Exile series

I've seen the author's name pop up too, but I haven't read anything of hers yet. I do like all the YA science fiction we're seeing though lately.
ReplyDeleteHi, Greg!
DeleteI've seen this author's books at Barnes & Noble, but have never read one. And yes, I LOVE that so much YA science fiction is coming out!! :)
Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)
I agree that the cover of this book is very attacrive. Of course there is the old adage that is obviously true about not judging a boob by its cover. With that the artwork makes me want to just start reading this book. The only thing is that I would start at the beginning of the series.
ReplyDeleteHi, Brian!
DeleteIt certainly is!! :)
I wonder where that old adage came from. While true, it's also true that catchy book covers do attract potential readers. If you click on the link for this series, you'll see the previous covers. I don't like them that much....
I would want to start the first book, too. I keep coming across great reads that are part of an ongoing series! Lol.
Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)
Sounds like a great Sci-Fi read. I would have to start with the first in the series tho and I love that she is tech savvy. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteMary my CWW!
Hi, Mary!
DeleteYes, it SURE does!! :)
Glad you love my pick!! :) :) Yeah, I want to start with the first book, too!! It just seems that I keep running into great reads that are already in the middle of a series....sigh.... Lol.
Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)
What a wonderful cover! I know I've been a very neglectful reading buddy lately but I promise to touch base soon. It's been a trying few months but I miss you! Hope all is going well.
ReplyDeleteHi, Barb!
DeleteYeah, I love it, too!! :)
Well, no worries! I know that life frequently gets in the way! I miss you, too!! Looking forward to getting in touch again!! <3 <3
Everything's okay with me and hubby. Hope all is well with you, the pups, and your own hubby!! Booker T. is sailing along quite well by now, I'm sure!!
Thanks for commenting!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE BOYS, AND "ARF, ARF" TO THEM!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
I LOVE the sound of this one, Maria! Thank you for bringing the series to my attention. Though right now I'm trying to be very grown up and read a number of my TBR books before buying any more! But... science fiction AND kidnapped children... *drools unbecomingly*
ReplyDeleteHi, Sarah!
DeleteYeah, the plot IS indeed GREAT!! You're very welcome for the sharing!! :)
Oh, I know the feeling of having a HUMONGOUS TBR, and yet, wanting to buy MORE books! Lol. I think ALL of us bookworms are in the very same boat!! :) :) So drool away!! Lol.
Thanks for the funny comment!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 :) :)
