Here's my choice for this week!

 Nightblood
(Frostblood Saga, Book 3)
Elly Blake
Hardcover, 400 pages
Little Brown Books for Young Readers
     June 5, 2018
Fantasy,
Young Adult Fiction

Ruby's world has changed more than she ever could have imagined. She's in love with a powerful Frost King. She's the heir to the Fire Throne. And she may be a Nightblood--the spawn of a vengeful deity hellbent on releasing his wraithlike Minax from their prison. Once freed, these beasts will roam the earth, devouring every last person until he or she is nothing but an empty husk. But Ruby is able to control the Minax to a degree, and now she, her beloved Arcus, and her friend Kai must find a way to bring Frostbloods and Firebloods--sworn enemies--together to make a stand against a foe more deadly than any they've faced.

In this heart-pounding finale of Elly Blake's gorgeously written and action-packed Frostblood Saga, the fate of Frostbloods, Firebloods, and all of humanity is at stake.

Why I can't wait for this one!

I know I'm behind on this series....yes, I have seen the books on several blogs, as well as at good ol'
Barnes & Noble... I have the first two books on my Goodreads shelves, and now I'm adding this one! I do want to read them all, but it's the same thing all the time: there are SO MANY great books I want to read!! Well, now I need to go back and start this series from Book 1. Maybe this year? Sigh.....
And oh, did I mention that GORGEOUS cover?

These are the two previous books
 in this GREAT series!!

Elly Blake loves fairy tales, old houses, and owls. After earning a BA in English literature, she held a series of seemingly random jobs, including project manager, customs clerk, graphic designer, reporter for a local business magazine, and library assistant. She lives in Southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids and a Siberian Husky mix who definitely shows Frostblood tendencies.

choice this week?

    1. Hi, Verushka!

Yeah, I can't believe it, either!! I have seen the first book on Amazon and Goodreads. I do have it on my GR shelves. But I had no idea there was a Book 2, and now Book 3 is on the way! These authors write at the speed of light!! Lol.

  4. This post reminds me how books that we want to read pile up faster then we can read them. Before one knows it an entire series is out and we have not started book one. As I have been trying to read a little more new science fiction I am seeing series that I want to start growing and growing. One solution is to read the series straight through.

    1. Hi, Brian!

Woe is me....that's EXACTLY what happens to me!! As you say, all of us bookworms have this perennial problem!!! (BTW, did you know they're now calling us "BOOK DRAGONS"? I've been seeing this term on the Internet lately. LOVE IT!!!)

Yeah, our solution is to read the entire series straight through, but WHEN to do so, with SO many other books CLAMORING for our immediate attention? LOL.

We're like kids in a candy store. We want to eat ALL the candy in the store (and online, too!!) LOL. LOL. LOL.

Thanks for the nice comment!! <3 :)

  5. I can't believe book three is already coming out! When the first book was released I badly wanted to read this and I had planned to but then others book came in between. I'm sure you know the feeling. Still excite about it, though!

    1. Hi, Steph!

Yeah, I can't believe it, either! Lol. These authors write SUPER fast!!

I definitely know the feeling! The very same thing happens to me....lol. Sometimes I sign up to review a book for a tour, and then have to put aside another one from a series I had been meaning to get to. It happens pretty often, too.

I'm glad you're excited about this book, too! Maybe I'll be able to get to all three of them this year! Lol.

      Thanks for the nice comment!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  6. Sometimes I think it works better for me to wait until there are a few books out in a series. That way I don't have to wait too long. Nice pick!

    1. Hi, Kay!

Yeah, that's a good way to get to at least the first two or three books of a series. It IS very disappointing to read one book, and then agonize waiting for the sequel to come out! Lol.

Glad you liked my pick! Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

  7. I still have a copy of Fireblood that I just haven't gotten to. This sounds like the perfect series to binge read!

    1. Hi, Sara!

I think I have a copy myself, somewhere in my personal library..... I'll have to hunt for it! Lol.

Yeah, I think it's better to wait until the last book is out, then just go from one to the other in one fell swoop! Lol.

      Thanks for commenting!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  8. Wow, these are coming out fast and I've not even started them. I have to admit I wasn't a huge fan of the cover of the second one but this one more than makes up for it. When will we ever find time to read all the books we pick?

Are we still on to buddy read Dread Nation in April? I'm looking forward to it!

    1. Hi, Barb!

I know!! These authors must be in a TIME WARP or something! Lol. They're coming out with the sequels SO fast!!

I agree about the covers. The second one is sort of "just okay", but this third one? LOVE IT!!!!

The question you're asking here has been haunting me for some time now.....I have SO MANY AWESOME BOOKS I want to get to!!!! Where's the time?! I need that TIME WARP NOW!!!! LOL.

You bet we're still on for that buddy read! Yeah, I know you're finding it hard to believe, but I really DO want to read this book!! Ant it will be REAL TREAT to be able to read it with you! I'm very much looking forward to it, Barb!!! :) :) :)

Thanks for the nice comment!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE BOYS, AND WOOF, WOOF, TO THEM!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

I have the first book somewhere in my personal library. I have to hunt for it, as I have SO many books....lol.

  10. The best way to read a trilogy is when all the books are out. :-) This sounds like a great book. My TBR collection is already so big and my wish list even longer. I will never get to all the books. At least I won't run out of choices. Have a great week!

    1. Hi, Wendy!

You're SO right! I can still remember the sheer AGONY, after reading "Twilight" and "New Moon", when I found out I would have to wait AN ENTIRE YEAR for the next book, "Eclipse", to come out! So I'm definitely going to wait for the third book in the Frostblood series to hit the shelves before I start reading this trilogy.

Of course my TBR list is SUPER LOOOOOOONG, too! Have you seen my Goodreads shelves? Lol. I think that most of us readers are like kids in a candy store, when it comes to books. We want ALL the candy!! LOL.

Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for commenting!! HUGS TO YOU AND MOUSE!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

    1. Hi, Eve!

I think I'll do what I've been telling other commenters -- wait until this third book is out before starting on the whole series.

Thanks for the comment!! <3 :)

  12. I LOVE the covers of all three of these - and this is a series that has somewhat slid under my radar, so thank you so much for sharing this one:). I hope you really love it and when I get my tottering TBR under more control, I'll check it out! Thank you for popping by, Maria - and you, too, have a fabulous week:)
