Waiting On Wednesday #48: Dreamspinner, by Lynn Kurland

This is a weekly book meme, hosted by
which features future releases that
we book bloggers
are eagerly anticipating!

Here's my pick for this week!

Dreamspinner
(Nine Kingdoms #7)
Lynn Kurland
Paperback, 104 pages
Berkley
Ezpected Publication:
December 31, 2012
Genre: Fantasy, Romance

Goodreads Synopsis

Aisling of Bruadair has lived a provincial life, heedless of the evil creeping over her land. That ordinary existence changes forever, though, when she is sent to the opposite end of the world to find a master swordsman. If she fails, her life--and her country's safety--will be forfeit. She just never expected that swordsman to be a wounded elven prince masquerading as a simple soldier. Powerless and scarred from a long-ago conflict, Rùnach of Ceangail has spent years in obscurity, ignoing battles he can no longer fight. And although he has been drawn back into the world, he fully intends to live an unremarkable life far away from events he knows he cannot change... Until Rùnach meets Aisling and realizes that she is far more than what she seems, that their alliance has attracted unwelcome notice, and that some battles must be fought.

Ever since discovering this author,
I have had a new goal -- to get my hands on
as many of her books as possible!
I want to start with the Nine Kingdoms series,
since I already own the first book,
titled Star of the Morning.

The book covers certainly promise
to deliver great fantasy,
as well as romance!
Since I love both of these genres,
I know I'll be totally enchanted!!

What do you think of my choice?
What fascinating books
are you all eagerly awaiting
this week?

  1. Hi Maria - To continue our discussion begun on this series earlier, I would just say that on the surface to be totally within the realm of fantasy and looks really good.

Certain elements of the plot description remind me a little of the "Find Yoda in Exile" idea. This is not a bad thing, however.

  3. The Nine Kingdoms sounds like a really good fantasy series-- I will definitely be looking up the other books. The cover of Dreamspinner is so beautiful-- she reminds me of Susan from the Chronicles of Narnia with her bow-- and I love the name Aisling. It means "dream" in Irish, I believe. :) Great pick, Maria!

  4. Hey, Brian!

Oh, so this novel reminds you of STAR WARS in some way! Interesting. I'll have to look up the reference to Yoda. By the way, I miss that little guy...gotta watch one of the movies again!

I'm really looking forward to starting this series! Kurland has other books, too, of course, but I am especially attracted to this series. Should be GREAT reading!!

Thanks for the comment!! : )

  8. Hey, Kat!

Oh, I'm so glad you like this series! I haven't read "The Chronicles of Narnia" -- yet -- but it does look like the girl on this cover could very well have come from that magical land.

The name "Aisling" is quite beautiful, I agree. If the meaning is indeed "dream", I like it even more!

Thanks for the great comment!! : )
