On My Bookshelves #18

My Sunday book meme
highlights books that I own,
but have somehow
never gotten to,
as well as those wonderful books
I would love to re-read!!

Here's my special list
for this week!

Hardcover, 487 pages
HarperTeen
May 31, 2011
Genre: Paranormal Romance,
Urban Fantasy

From the Goodreads Synopsis

Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is--no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket.
Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust.
. . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.

I've owned this book for several months,
and still haven't read it!
Well, it's part of my TBR Pile
Reading Challenge,
so I will definitely be getting to it!!
The cover is simply stunning,
and the plot within sounds
just as beautiful!
Besides, I do want to read it
before I start on the sequel,
Dreamless, soon to be released!!

(The Morganville Vampires #9)
Hardcover, 338 pages
NAL Hardcover
October 26, 2010
(first published Sept. 29, 2010)
Genre: Paranormal Romance,
Urban Fantasy

From the Goodreads Synopsis

While developing a new system to maintain Morganville's defenses, student Claire Danvers discovers a way to amplify vampire mental powers. Through this, she's able to re-establish the field around this vampire-infested Texas college town that protects it from outsiders.

But the new upgrades have an unexpected consequence: people inside the town begin to slowly forget who they are-even the vampires...

This is my way of reminding myself that
I need to start this series...
I know I have the first volume,
Glass Houses, somewhere around the house.
That's why I put this one up instead!
Seriously, though, I've heard nothing but
great things about these books.
This is another one for that reading challenge!

Hardcover, 304 pages
Greenwillow Books/Harper Collins
April 27, 2010
Genre: YA Fantasy, Romance

From the Goodreads Synopsis

The Shifter is an immortal creature bound by an ancient spell to protect the kings of Samorna. When the realm is peaceful, she retreats to the Mistwood.

Prince Rokan needs Isabel to be his Shifter. He needs her ability to shift to animal form, to wind, to mist. He needs her lethal speed and superhuman strength. And he needs her loyalty—because without it, she may be his greatest threat.

I happened to see this one at Borders
just before it closed down.
That gives me a very nostalgic feel...
This novel sounds like a very enchanting,
utterly riveting fantasy,
and of course it's part of
that TBR pile reading challenge!
