  4. Thanks for hosting the giveaway.

As you know I tend to read a lot of American History. Much of it emphasizes the great things that have come from America. Much of it highlights the bad things too. I think that real love of one's country and civilization means understanding both.

I am currently rereading Nathanial Hawthorn's The Scarlet Letter. While fiction, this is a very American book. It also explores both the good and the not so good.

Happy 4th of July to you and your family Maria!

    1. Hi, Brian!

      You're very welcome!! :)

One of the reasons I find your blog so interesting is precisely that: you read a lot of American History, a subject I need to delve into, as I haven't read any such books in the longest time. Your articles have brought books to my attention that I would otherwise probably never have heard of. So THANK YOU for that!! :)

Hawthorne's novel is a powerful one, and yes, it's a very American book. I read it when I was in high school, and want to re-read it. I think I'll make it a point to do so sometime this year! Of course, I will review it on my other blog.

Thanks for the WONDERFUL comment!! Happy 4th of July to you and your family, too, Brian!! <3 :)

  5. Hi again ! Thanks for this new giveaway ! I finally finished my exams so I can finally answer xD
    As for your questions :
I don't enjoy reading patriotic books at all (in my case, they would be in French I guess but I found them extremely boring and sometimes upsetting xD. As for the July 4th, we don't have that in France so.. I don't celebrate it ^^ But there's a celebration on July 14th with firework (it's our national celebration)

    1. Hi, Sandrine!

I'm very sorry, but this giveaway is only for U.S. residents. Take a look at the rules above.

I appreciate your comment, and wish I could include you, but, since I'm using Amazon and not The Book Depository, I can't....

I know that there's a celebration in France on July 14th. I hope you enjoy that one!

Thanks for commenting, but, again, this giveaway is only for U.S. residents. Sorry..... :(

      Have a great reading day!! HUGS!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

    2. Oh wow, sorry ! I manage to jump those lines when I read the article XDDD It's in big... Must be really tired oO' Don't worry about it, totally my fault ^^

Yeah, I like the firework on display =p But.. It's too short T-T (less than 30 minutes...). There's also a March in paris but I've never gone to see it so I can't really describe it x)

    3. Hi, again, Sandrine! :)

No worries!! What I did was to add more lines referring to the fact that this is a U.S. giveaway. So I made it much easier to notice that. I should have done this the first time around, so I apologize for not doing it..... :(

The fireworks here don't last much longer than that. In fact, they're usually only TWENTY minutes long!! I HATE that!!

Oh, that march in Paris must be VERY nice!! I'd LOVE to go see that!!

Thanks for dropping by and commenting again!! And don't worry -- I will have future international giveaways coming up!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) ;) :)

  6. don't apologize xD I'm just sometimes blind, it happens xD

I hate that too T-T The best firework show must be a firework competition I guess... ?

Ahah, tbh, I'm actually looking more forward to seeing your opinion on different beautiful cover =p My eyes like seeing them *laughing*

    1. Hi, Sandrine!

Yeah, it also happened to me once....lol. I entered a giveaway at a Spanish-speaking blog, and then realized that the giveaway was only for people living in Argentina!! LOL.

A fireworks competition? Now that's an interesting idea! Yeah, that would be GREAT!!

If you want to see more of my opinions on book covers, be sure to check my "Shelf Candy Saturday" every weekend. And I say "every weekend" because sometimes I post on Saturday, and other times, on Sunday. Lol.

Thanks for commenting!! Hope you have a GREAT week coming up tomorrow! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
