Waiting On Wednesday No. 193: Rise of Fire, by Sophie Jordan

Welcome to "Waiting On Wednesday"!!
This is a weekly event that
used to be hosted by
Jill @ Breaking the Spine, until
very recently.
I have continued to publish these
posts on my own, as I reall
like this meme, which
showcases future releases we book  bloggers
are eagerly anticipating!!

Here's my choice for this week!

   Rise of Fire
(Reign of Shadows, Book 2)
Hardcover, 304 pages
February 7, 2017
Fantasy, Romance, Young Adult Fiction

The richly suspenseful sequel to Sophie Jordan’s romantic fantasy Reign of Shadows.

Luna and Fowler have escaped the kingdom of Relhok, but they haven’t escaped the darkness. When a battle against the dark dwellers mortally injures Fowler, Luna is faced with a choice: put their fate in the hands of mysterious strangers or risk losing Fowler forever.

Desperate to keep the one bright part of her life alive, Luna accepts the help of soldiers from a nearby kingdom. Lagonia’s castle offers reprieve from the dangerous outside world—until the king discovers both Fowler's and Luna’s true ties to Relhok and their influence over the throne.

Now pawns in each kingdom’s political game, Luna and Fowler are more determined than ever to escape and build the life they’ve been dreaming of. But their own pasts have a tight hold on their hearts and their destinies. Luna must embrace the darkness and fire within her before she loses not only Fowler, but the power she was destined to inherit.

Why I'm waiting on this one!

Well, I've done it again.....gotten hooked on a series I haven't heard about until now. And it's by the AWESOME Sophie Jordan!! Naw, I haven't read any of her books yet, but I HAVE read the reviews! So I'm jumping on the bandwagon for this one! The plot sounds absolutely EXCITING!!

This is the first book in the series!!

What do you think of my choice?
Leave your link below, so I can
come check out your pick(s)!

  1. I haven't read the first book yet, but I REALLY need to! And this sequel looks amazing!
Great pick, hope you get to read it soon and LOVE it! <3

    Here's my WoW

    1. Hi, Amy!

Yeah, me, too!! And then I want to get to this one!!

Glad you loved my pick!! I hope I can get to the first book sometime this year....

Thanks for dropping by and commenting!! HUGS!!! <3 :)

  2. I own the first book but like you, haven't read it. I love how the covers coordinate and as you can guess, it sometimes doesn't take a lot to make me happy. Hopefully we will make some time in 2017 to get to some of the many books waiting on our TBR!

    1. Hi, Barb,

I don't own it, and haven't read!! Hope to do both soon!

I'm not a huge fan of these covers, but at least they do match. I still remember what they did with the covers of the Nightshade series, by Andrea Cremer. AAAAARRGGHHH!!!! I don't understand WHY publishers pull stuff like that!!

Anyway.....hope to get to the first book, and then the second, sometime this year!! Yes, our TBRs are HUMONGOUS, lol.

Thanks for swinging by and commenting!! HUGS!! <3 :)

  3. I haven't read the first one but I swear its at the top of my TBR. I hope you love this one when you get a chance to read it :)
    Aneta @ Angelic Book Reviews

    1. Hi, Aneta!

I've read so many positive reviews of Jordan's books, I know I'll love these two! I just have to get to them....haha!

Hope you enjoy them, too! Thanks for commenting back!! :)

  4. Great choice! I really loved Reign of Shadows, so I'm also dying for the sequel :)

    Brittany @ Brittany's Book Rambles

    1. Hi, Brittany!

Oh, you've read "Reign of Shadows" and loved it? Now I'm even MORE interested in starting this series! Well, Jordan has an excellent reputation, judging from most of the reviews of her books.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!! :)

  5. Amazing cover! Just like Reign of Shadows. Sounds good too, but frankly I would almost want it just for the cover. :) This one of those that just jumps off the shelf I imagine.

    1. Hi, Greg!

These are very unique, original covers indeed! Not a huge fan of them, though. But the plots of both books sure do sound AMAZING!! And Sophie Jordan has a GREAT reputation, too. I know I'm going to enjoy this series!!

Thanks for visiting and commenting!! :)

  6. Both books sound so interesting and I love the covers on both!

    Here’s my WoW!
