Seventeen-year-old Snow has spent the majority of her life within the walls of the Whittaker Institute, a high security mental hospital in upstate New York. Deep down, she knows she's not crazy and doesn't belong there. When she meets a mysterious, handsome new orderly and dreams about a strange twisted tree she realizes she must escape and figure out who she really is.

Using her trusting friend Bale as a distraction, Snow breaks free and races into the nearby woods. Suddenly, everything isn't what it seems, the line between reality and fantasy begins to blur, and she finds herself in icy Algid--her true home--with witches, thieves, and a strangely alluring boy named Kai, none of whom she's sure she can trust. As secret after secret is revealed, Snow discovers that she is on the run from a royal lineage she's destined to inherit, a father more powerful and ruthless than she could have imagined, and choices of the heart that could change the fate of everything...including Snow's return to the world she once knew.

This breathtaking first volume begins the story of how Snow becomes a villain, a queen, and ultimately a hero.

Why I'm waiting on this one!

Here's another retelling to love! This one is obviously a very imaginative version of the story, "The Snow Queen". I ADORE retellings especially if they involve fairy tales, so I need to add this one to my collection!! Besides, it was written by the author of Dorothy Must Die Need I say more?

    1. Hi, there!

Well, to be honest, I haven't read that book, but, since it was such a hit with a lot of readers, that means the author must be EXCELLENT. "Stealing Snow" does sound more interesting, though, because it's about a villain who turns into a hero. I LOVE that!!

      Thanks for commenting!! :)

    1. Hi, Alexandra!

Actually, I made a mistake, which I have already corrected. "Stealing Snow" is really the first one in the series. Lol. So are you talking about "Dorothy Must Die"? I haven't read that one, and, to be honest, don't think I ever will. I much prefer the original Dorothy, in "The Wizard of Oz"!

      Thanks for commenting!! :)

  6. As usual, another great choice! I have had my eye on this one for some time. I really should start the Dorothy books by this author but there just aren't enough hours in the day. Hope we both enjoy it and at least we won't get tired of looking at the cover.

    1. Hi, Barb!

Oh, thank you! I'm so glad you like my choice!!

To be honest, I'm not interested in reading the Dorothy books. I prefer the original Dorothy story. However, I mentioned "Dorothy Must Die" in this post because it's evidence that the author is an EXCELLENT one. And I do find "Stealing Snow" more appealing, because a villain becomes a good guy! YAY!!!!

I'm sure we'll both enjoy this one! I love your comment about not getting tired of looking at the cover. Too funny!!

Thanks for the great comment!! :)

WOW!! You have this one?! You LUCKY girl!! Of course you're so excited to read it! It sounds SO AWESOME!! I know I'm going to LOVE it!!

Thanks for letting me know about the mistake regarding the book number! I used the HTML from my previous WOW post, and didn't notice the error. The previous book was a #3 in a series. I don't know how that escaped my notice....lol. So I really appreciate your telling me about it!

Thanks for the nice comment!! :)
