Stacking The Shelves #14

This is a weekly event hosted by Jennifer, Lili,
Stephanie, and Tynga @ Tynga's Reviews!
As the title implies, this is all about
sharing the books you're adding
to your shelves, be they physical or virtual.

This week's haul!!

Books Purchased

I featured this beautiful cover
in one of my "Shelf Candy Saturday" posts.
The story is absolutely enchanting,
so I rushed over to Amazon to buy it!
Yes, there's a vampire in it.
And love.
And...I'm going to love it, I know!

Lynsay Sands is one of my favorite
paranormal romance authors!
She writes funny vampire books, and
I totally enjoy her plots,
which feature very lovable characters
I won't soon forget,
especially those from the Argeneau family!!

This is actually two books in one:
Bourne and Tributary are really novellas,
and part of the wonderfully
exciting, as well as romantic,
River of Time Series, by another of
my favorite authors, Lisa Bergren!
I have read the first two books
in the series, Waterfall and Cascade,
which I totally loved!!

This is a beautiful story of a woman
who discovers that she's really an angel
whose mission is to save underprivileged children,
as well as work to improve their lives.
I had never heard of this book before,
but the cover caught my eye
when I saw it in a second-hand bookstore!

This book is by another of my
favorite authors, who is
known as "The Queen of Paranormal Romance".
Christine Feehan's Carpathians are
gorgeous, romantic, and totally
dedicated to destroying rogue vampires.
I fell in love with them when
I read Dark Prince, the first book
in this series!

I had seen this book on several blogs,
and decided to check it out.
From the synopses I've read on
Goodreads and Amazon,
it looks totally fascinating, since
the characters are shapeshifters of
different species of animals.
Also, there's an enchanting love story
involved, so I was hooked!!
(Plus I got a signed copy!!!!!!)

I was immediately pulled in by this book
because of my love of classical music,
especially for the piano!
I have a sister who plays beautifully, too.
This story of a girl who gives up
playing because of a traumatic experience
is sure to be a very compelling read!
I very much prefer the UK cover,
so I made sure to order the book from
The Book Depository.
(Then I found out that Fishpond has
a better deal....)

UK Cover

US Cover

This is my one nonfiction book purchase.
It's a fascinating study about the
transformation of vampires
from creatures of terror and nightmares,
to dark romantic heroes.
Since I'm a huge fan of The Twilight Saga,
this is a subject dear to my heart!
Even more interestingly, the author
focuses on vampires from
a Christian perspective.
The book also has
an extensive bibliography.

So what do you think of my haul?
What fascinating books did you stack on your shelves this week?
