This is a weekly book meme/blog hop,
hosted by
It showcases future releases which
we bloggers
are eagerly anticipating!

Here's my pick for this week!

Trade Paperback (UK), 352 pages
Usborne Publishing, Ltd.
May 1, 2013
Coming-of-Age, Contemporary Fiction,
Music,Young Adult Fiction

From the Goodreads Synopsis

Lucy Beck-Moreau once had a promising future as a concert pianist. The right people knew her name, her performances were booked months in advance, and her future seemed certain.

That was all before she turned fourteen.

Now, at sixteen, it's over. A death, and a betrayal, led her to walk away. That leaves her talented ten-year-old brother, Gus, to shoulder the full weight of the Beck-Moreau family expectations. Then Gus gets a new piano teacher who is young, kind, and interested in helping Lucy rekindle her love of piano -- on her own terms. But when you're used to performing for sold-out audiences and world-famous critics, can you ever learn to play just for yourself?

Although this is not my usual type of read,
I knew I couldn't pass it up!
One of my sisters plays the piano beautifully.
Besides, all of us girls were brought up
listening to classical music,
especially piano and violin concertos.
This is one book I know I'm going to treasure!
I have already pre-ordered
this book from The Book Depository,
since I do prefer the UK cover.

  2. This does sound really good and like in your family - my sister plays the piano and her children play the piano too and they are really talented. I like the UK cover better too!

  3. Hey, Brian!

Oh, I can't wait to read this! It does sound like it will be a richly nuanced novel.

  4. Hi, Maria!

How nice that your sister and her kids play as well! I LOVE the piano, although sadly, I have NO talent for it...one of my sisters does, and I love to listen to her play Chopin, Beethoven, and all those great classic composers!

I'm glad you prefer the UK cover, as well. The US cover just looks so unoriginal. I really like the concept of the UK cover. In fact, I've already pre-ordered this book, from The Book Depository!

I'll be checking out your WOW. Thanks for commenitng!! ;)
