this week!!

From the Goodreads Synopsis

Italy, 1453. Seventeen-year-old Luca Vero is brilliant, gorgeous—and accused of heresy. Cast out of his religious order for using the new science to question old superstitious beliefs, Luca is recruited into a secret sect: The Order of the Dragon, commissioned by Pope Nicholas V to investigate evil and danger in its many forms, and strange occurrences across Europe, in this year—the end of days.

Isolde is a seventeen-year-old girl shut up in a nunnery so she can’t inherit any of her father’s estate. As the nuns walk in their sleep and see strange visions, Isolde is accused of witchcraft—and Luca is sent to investigate her, but finds himself plotting her escape.

This author is well-known for her
superb historical fiction,
written for the adult market.
Now she has ventured into
the YA genre,
and I'm curious to see the results!
This novel certainly sounds
like an exciting, captivating read!
I love the historical period,
the location, the myths and
mystical ambience...
This one must be mine soon!!

What fascinating books
are you all  eagerly anticipating
this week?
And what do you think
of my choice?

  4. Hi Maria!

I absolutely love your pick this week! I've read one of Philippa Gregory's adult novels, The Other Boleyn Girl, and found it to be so addicting. I'm curious to find out if that quality will carry over into her YA turn.

Enjoy the rest of your week! :)
