In a world where everyone is the same, one girl is the unthinkable: unique. A high-stakes fast-paced series launch from New York Times bestselling author Rachel Vincent.

We have brown hair. Brown eyes. Fair skin.
We are healthy and strong and smart.
But only one of us has ever had a secret.

Dahlia 16 sees her face in every crowd. She's nothing special—just one of five thousand girls created from a single genome to work for the greater good of the city.
Meeting Trigger 17 changes everything. He thinks she’s interesting. Beautiful. Unique. Which means he must be flawed. When Dahlia can't stop thinking about him—when she can't resist looking for him, even though that means breaking the rules—she realizes she's flawed, too. But if she’s flawed, then so are all her identicals. And any genome found to be flawed will be recalled.
Destroyed.
Getting caught with Trigger would seal not only Dahlia's fate, but that of all five thousand girls who share her face. But what if Trigger is right? What if Dahlia
is different?
Suddenly the girl who always follows the rules is breaking them, one by one by one. . . .

Why I can't wait for this one!

I can't believe what an AWESOME plot this is!!!!! I don't read dystopian fiction very often, but I know I should.  The reasons should be more than obvious in this day and age! And this one has a title that obviously refers to the classic, Brave New World! Just looking at this cover really strikes a chord within me, too, and I'm sure it will also do so within every girl and woman who encounters it. We are SICK AND TIRED of being categorized and stereotyped in certain ways simply because we're females. We are each our own unique persons, and we will make sure the world knows it! I can't WAIT for this novel to release!!! I KNOW I'm going to DEVOUR it!!!!!

Rachel Vincent is a former English teacher and an eager champion of the Oxford comma. She shares her home in Oklahoma with two cats, two teenagers, and her husband, who’s been her # 1 fan from the start. Rachel is older than she looks and younger than she feels, and she remains convinced that writing about the things that scare her is the cheapest form of therapy—but social media is a close second.

  2. As someone who is interested in these issues as well as a science fiction fan this looks very good. It does seem to draw upon a lot of ideas that have been floating around in science fiction books, television shows and films for a while. With that, these are fascinating ideas.

If you read this I would love to know what you thought about it.

    1. Hey, Brian!

Yeah, those two things are precisely what attracted me to this book -- the feminist theme, as well as the SF aspect. I'm not surprised this theme has been so prevalent in books, TV shows, and films recently, because it's VERY relevant to what's going on in our country right now.

I won't have to wait that much longer to pick up this book! And I KNOW I'm going to enjoy it!!

Thanks for the great comment!! Hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!! <3 :)

  3. Oh wow! This plot is ... dire? That's the only word that comes to mind. So much on one girl's shoulders -- I hope it's a great read! Here's mine: http://editingeverything.com/blog/2017/04/05/waiting-oncant-wait-wednesday-masters-sun/

How funny that you love the name "Trigger"! It reminds me of The Lone Ranger, for some reason....lol.
