My Answer

The answer to this question is a very obvious one for every bookworm: "Of course not!" We might tell ourselves that we will pass by, and not go inside, but we can't help doing so! At least, I can't! Heck, just the very sight of the bookstore from a distance is enough for me to feel the pull....lol. And then, when I get closer, I see all the nice, shining new books in the windows.....I'm totally GONE when those precious objects hit my vision.....

Not only am I totally unable to just walk on by without going into a bookstore, but I'm also unable to go in without walking out with at least ONE book.  Sometimes I buy more. It all depends on how hard my addiction is affecting me that particular day....

Last weekend, and the weekend before that, I visited the nearest Barnes & Noble store. On the first weekend, I walked out with two hardcovers. On the second weekend, I walked out with a hardcover and two "flexcovers" (for lack of a better term; this is a new type of printed book with a soft cover that seems to imitate leather, and is very supple and flexible).

So no, it's TOTALLY impossible for me to pass by a bookstore -- especially if I'm on foot, but also even if I pass by in a car or bus -- without just HAVING to go in! Those books just CALL OUT  to me!  Lol.

I do a lot of book buying online, as well. I not only go to Amazon and eBay, but to Alibris, Abebooks, Powell's and Books-A-Million, So this should keep me from feeling compelled to go into bookstores, right? WRONG. Even with my online book shopping, I STILL can't pass by a bookstore, and just keep on going!
