This Week's Question
Do you participate in the Bloggiesta?
(Submitted by Elizabeth @
My Answer
The short and sweet answer is "No". I had never even heard of it until I saw this question. So, of course, I Googled this word.
Well, it turns out that this is a fun, interesting event, hosted by Suey @ It's All About Books, and Danielle @ There's A Book, that takes place on a bi-annual basis. It's actually a blogging marathon, and they also hold quarterly mini-challenges. Any blog can participate, and the topics are all related to the process of blogging itself, such as blog organization (personal organization is also included) blogging tips, and getting the best from social media.
The event also has Facebook, Google +, and Twitter pages. See the links below.
The name "Bloggiesta" is super cute, and incorporates the Spanish word "fiesta", which means that it's definitely a LOT of fun!
I would love to participate, but I have noticed that these blog posts do take a LOT of time to put together. Most of the posts offer advice that I certainly need for my own blog, lol.
If I think of something REALLY helpful and interesting, I might participate in the next Bloggiesta. Not the mini-challenge coming up in September, but perhaps one of the marathons or mini-challenges next year.
I think this is a great way to acquire more helpful blogging knowledge, as well as find more blogging friends, and I want to thank Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews for bringing this to my attention, as I had no idea such an event existed!
There will be a mini-challenge held from Sept. 21st to Sept. 24th. You can access the signup page HERE.
Here are the links to find out more information about this event.
Here's a list of links to some very interesting past posts included in mini-challenges, which I know will definitely help me out in my blogging, and might help some of you guys out as well! ENJOY!! :)

What are your thoughts on
this topic?
If you're participating in this meme,
I'll go comment on your
own BBH post.
If not, I will then comment on one
of your blog posts!
Thanks for visiting!!!
Maria, you hit on a good point that I think applies to me as well--advice that I could use as well! I haven't participated, but it does sound like a lot of fun. I know quite a few bloggers who participate in it and have enjoyed reading about their progress and posts. Maybe one day I will get to take part in the event.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great weekend, Maria!
Hi, Wendy!
DeleteI'm so glad this post has been useful to you! I certainly think that many of the ideas and suggestions included in the marathon and mini-challenge posts in the Bloggiesta archives are very helpful. I'm considering participating some time next year. I'll have to think of something that would be of use for my blog, as well as other blogs.
Hope you and your family are having a great holiday weekend!! Thanks so much for the lovely comment!! HUGS TO YOU AND MOUSE!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
Maria....what a fantastic post and marvelous research.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! You gave such wonderful information.
The Bloggiesta is a lot of fun, and I especially enjoy the Twitter chats and getting to know other bloggers.
Finding out tips and tricks from others is very helpful.
Thanks for the Spanish translation.
You are a fantastic addition to the Blog Hop...thanks so much. You always provide in-depth, informative answers each week.
Elizabeth
Hi, Elizabeth!
DeleteAwww.....thank you SO much for the compliment!! You're so nice!!
Yeah, I decided to Google this, as I had never heard of it before. And it turned out that I found some GREAT posts that I know will be very helpful for myself and others, so I then decided to share them, too!
You're very welcome for the Spanish translation! :)
Thanks for the second compliment, as well! It's just that I believe in writing "meaty" posts. Also, I do enjoy writing, as well as including a lot of detail! Lol.
But YOU are one of the reasons I continue to participate in this hop, Elizabeth! Your praise and encouragement mean a LOT to me!!
Thank you SO much for always leaving such thoughtful, lovely comments on my BBH posts!! Hope you're having a WONDERFUL holiday weekend!! HUGS!!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
Again...marvelous research and explanation - thanks.
DeleteThis question really encouraged a lot of great conversation and great answers.
All is good except for the weather.
Hey Maria.
ReplyDeleteI also had never heard of Bloggiesta before. I poked around their homepage a little. It does look like some great stuff. I will check out your other links. Some of them look very helpful.
I also share your hesitation in regard to the time issue.
Have a great weekend!
Hey, Brian!
DeleteI see now that most of the bloggers participating in the Book Blogger Hop had never heard of it, either. When I came across the question, I decided to Google the name, and discovered quite a treasure trove of information in their post archives. I then decided to share some of these with all of you guys. Some of these posts are indeed very helpful!
Yeah, the time factor is what's holding me back right now. Maybe next year I'll participate, but not now. However, I would have to come up with some very unique post topics, ones that have not been submitted to the Bloggiesta yet. Alternatively, I might provide a new angle on a topic already in the archives. I really don't know, at this point. I'll have to give it some thought.
Hope you and your wife are having a WONDERFUL holiday weekend!! Thanks for the nice comment!! <3 :)
I hadn't heard of it either, but your summary post is excellent.
ReplyDeleteHi, Nicki!
DeleteYeah, I had to Google it to get all the information I included in this post.
Hope you're having a WONDERFUL holiday weekend!! Thanks so much for the lovely compliment!! <3 <3 :) :)
I've never heard of the Bloggiesta before today and it sounds really fun!! I need an upgrade on my blog look but I have no idea what to do with it. I signed up to help next year even though I have no idea what it is lol.
