My Answer

I'll have to say that I find them, first and foremost, deep within my soul. Books are my life, and always have been. They have frequently delighted me, instructed me, and given me wings to fly off on journeys of the imagination. Books are, indeed, my soul! It was only natural for me to wish to share this love with other passionate bookworms-turned-book-bloggers

I love to express my thoughts about these beautiful, wonderful creations! So this is why I began to blog about them. When it comes to books, I am not embarrassed  to wear my heart on my sleeve, so to speak. I will always write about them with honesty, a sense of intellectual wonder, and total joy!

Yes, at times, I have wanted to stop blogging about books. That's because the blogging does take time, precious time that I could be spending in reading and enjoying books. But then, I quickly scold myself, reminding myself how much I love to write about books, so that others may read my thoughts. Then I gather strength to go on.

Springing from my love for books is the love of writing book reviews. I am very much a perfectionist in this regard, always striving to write better reviews. One thing I've been working on is not giving away too many spoilers. My early reviews have this problem. I think I have improved this. I still get a little nervous about posting reviews, though, wondering if they're as good as I can possibly make them. Sometimes I'll tweak and re-tweak a review even after publishing it!

I have not only found motivation and inspiration from within myself, however, but also from other bloggers. There are some really awesome book bloggers out there, who not only take the time to design visually interesting blogs, but also write dynamite reviews! I have learned quite a bit from them!

Now that I've mentioned other bloggers, I also have to say that I have befriended some very nice ones, who are willing to discuss books with me, on their blogs as well as mine. So blogging friendships are another source of motivation and inspiration! I have some very special blogger friends, such as Michele @ A Belle's Tales, and Brian @ Babbling Books. They have  not only inspired and motivated me, but have also been very supportive friends!

  1. Oh, that's a wonderful answer!

I agree - with books, I feel I can wear my heart on my sleeve. Usually I come across as apathetic, but when someone mentions books I become a gushing fangirl.

  4. Thanks so much for the mention and the good word Maria.

Speaking of really well written posts. This is one of the best written that I have ever read, You convey your love of books in a very poetic way.

The conflict between blogging and reading time is one that I also feel. I am glad you have chosen to keep up the blogging.

    1. Hey, Brian!

You're very welcome for my mention of you and your blog! You've been a very supportive, very nice, and very interesting blogger friend throughout all the time I've known you! I greatly enjoy discussing books with you!

Thank you so much for the great compliment!! Much appreciated!! When it comes to books, I can definitely get poetic. They just make SO VERY HAPPY....Ah, BLISS!!

It's ironic that there should be a gentle tug-of-war between reading and blogging.... That's what I feel, anyway! But I really do need to spend more time reading! Somehow, I need to find a balance....

Thanks so much for such a WONDERFUL comment!! Hope you're having a GREAT Saturday!! :)

  6. What a beautiful post, Maria! I love your statement: "When it comes to books, I am not embarrassed to wear my heart on my sleeve." I couldn't agree more. My love of reading is what inspires me most--and I do enjoy writing down my thoughts about what I read. And the blogging community is wonderful, isn't it? I have many great bloggers such as yourself who make it all worthwhile.

    1. Hi, Wendy!

Oh, thank you so much for such a nice compliment!!

Yeah, I LOVE to gush about books!! Some people (mostly non book lovers, of course!) might think I'm some sort of kook, but heck, I do NOT care!! I can't say enough great things about books!!!

All of of us book bloggers are motivated by our love of books, or else, we'd be blogging about something totally different! Lol.

We all enjoy writing down and sharing our thoughts about the books we read. What a WONDERFUL thing to do, right? And yes, sharing with other addicted bookworms is SO AWESOME!!

Aw....another nice compliment! You're so sweet!! I can now count you among my great blogger friends, as well! You, too, make it all worthwhile!!

Thank you for visiting and leaving such a nice, heartwarming comment!! :)
