This is a weekly book meme, hosted by
which features future releases that we book bloggers
are eagerly anticipating!
Here's my pick for this week!!
Paperback, 368 pages
St. Martin's Griffin
Expected Publication Date: February 28, 2012
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy
From the Goodreads Synopsis
The days are growing darker for 17-year-old demon trapper Riley Blackthorne. With her father’s reanimated body back safely, Beck barely speaking to her because of her tryst with a hunky fallen angel and a deal freshly made with Lucifer, she has enough on her hands to last a normal teenage lifetime. Though she bargained with Heaven to save his life, her ex-boyfriend Simon has told the Vatican’s elite team of demon hunters that she’s working with Hell. So now she’s on the run, at the top of everyone’s most-wanted list.
But it’s becoming clear that this is bigger than either Riley or Beck, and rapidly getting out of control. Caught between her bargain with Heaven and her promise to Lucifer, Riley fears the final war is coming—and it may be closer than anyone thinks…
This is the ccover of the UK edition,
which will be released by Macmillan Children's Books
on March 1, 2012, and has 320 pages.
I can't get over how gorgeous both covers are!!
I'm seriously being tempted to
buy both editions!!!
I know that sounds like a rather illogical thing to do...
but we bibliophiles are known
for our extreme love of books, after all!!
The plot, of course, is absolutely riveting!
What could be more exciting than
battles between angels and demons
accompanied by a strong heroine who is
determined to put away as many of those horrible
creatures of evil as possible?
Since I already own the first two books in the series,
I will be ecstatic when the third volume
is part of my lovingly put together book collection...
Ah, blisssss!!!
What wonderful books are you all
eagerly waiting for this Wednesday?
I can't wait to see what happens in Forgiven! Excellent pick =)

I completely understand the urge to buy both versions. Those covers are lovely. I think its worth it especially if its a series you love. I haven't read this one yet, I don't know why because its exactly the type of book I like. Great choice! Check out my WOW here
ReplyDeleteI have SO bought different editions of some of my favorite books just to have the different covers. Book Depository is one of my BFF's lol
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds really good -- do you think it would be a good standalone or would I have to start at the beginning?

I haven't read this series yet, and I've been wondering if I should because it sounds like such a cool idea! Seeing people excited about new sequels for it makes me want to read them even more!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Maria :)
My WoW at Esther's Ever After
I haven't read any of this series, but that does sound like an intriguing read. I'll have to pick up the first in the series. Hopefully it will get me out of my current angel slump!

The Happy Booker:
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see that other readers feel the way I do about buying different editions because of the nice covers! Lol. Although I haven't started this series yet, I've heard a LOT of good things about it, so I almost feel as if I'd already read it. The UK covers for the first two books are gorgeous, too, although they have different titles. for some reason.
Thanks for commenting!! : )
Jess (The Romanceaholic):
ReplyDeleteYet another reader who shares my obsession with covers! Great! And yes, I do think you should start with the first volume, just in case. Some authors write books that can stand alone, even though they're in a series, but I still like to read them in sequence, if possible.
As for The Book Depository, I like them, too, but I still always compare their prices with those of eBay and Amazon. Sometimes it turns out that TBD doesn't have the lowest price! Here's another a great site that has free worldwide shipping: fishpond.com.sg.
Thank you so very much for the comment and the follow!! I'm now following you back! : )
Jan:
ReplyDeleteHope you get the second volume soon! Thanks for the comment! : )

ReplyDeleteYes, you really should start on this series! I have the first two books, but haven't read the first one yet, because of the lack ot time...
You're very welcome for the sharing, and thanks for the comment!! : )

ReplyDeleteHey, it sounds like you have't found any good angel books to read. I know the feeling...haven't found that many good ones myself. Have you tried the "Fallen" series, by Lauren Kate? That's a pretty good one. Hope you get into the Demon Trappers series, too, though.
Thanks for commenting!! : )
I haven't heard of this, but I like the concept of a demon trapper. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteJennifer:
ReplyDeleteYeah, it IS a great concept! Hope you get the books, and get into this series!
