In a land ruled and shaped by violent magical storms, power lies with those who control them.
Aurora Pavan comes from one of the oldest Stormling families in existence. Long ago, the ungifted pledged fealty and service to her family in exchange for safe haven, and a kingdom was carved out from the wildlands and sustained by magic capable of repelling the world’s deadliest foes. As the sole heir of Pavan, Aurora’s been groomed to be the perfect queen. She’s intelligent and brave and honorable. But she’s yet to show any trace of the magic she’ll need to protect her people.
To keep her secret and save her crown, Aurora’s mother arranges for her to marry a dark and brooding Stormling prince from another kingdom. At first, the prince seems like the perfect solution to all her problems. He’ll guarantee her spot as the next queen and be the champion her people need to remain safe. But the more secrets Aurora uncovers about him, the more a future with him frightens her. When she dons a disguise and sneaks out of the palace one night to spy on him, she stumbles upon a black market dealing in the very thing she lacks—storm magic. And the people selling it? They’re not Stormlings. They’re storm hunters.
Legend says that her ancestors first gained their magic by facing a storm and stealing part of its essence. And when a handsome young storm hunter reveals he was born without magic, but possesses it now, Aurora realizes there’s a third option for her future besides ruin or marriage.
She might not have magic now, but she can steal it if she’s brave enough.
Challenge a tempest. Survive it. And you become its master.

I am so grateful for little women. That book really changed my life!! And The Christmas Carol of course it has to be mentioned. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi, Samantha!
DeleteOh, I LOVE "Little Women"!! I read it as a child, years ago, and totally identified with Jo! I read an abridged version, though, so I never found about Beth. I'm glad, too, as it would have spoiled my enjoyment of the book. Now that I'm all grown up, I should read the complete version. Lol.
"A Christmas Carol" is one of my all-time FAVORITES!!! Especially at this time of year!! Nice picks!!
Thanks for participating in the giveaway!! Happy Thanksgiving!! <3 :)
More Than Magic was a fantastic read, it had all the elements that kept me interested!!
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful to have read Queen of Geeks this year because it made me think about acceptance of others and getting to know people first and not judging them by appearances or sexual preferences. It also helped me greatly understand the mental and physical manifestations of anxiety.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed reading several series this year. Some of the authors are: Sarah Maas, Gywnn White, and R.K. Thorne, C.N.Crawford, and Carrie Summers. There's just too many to name them all. They've all kept my interest and were all well written.
ReplyDeleteThanks,

I have so many books to be grateful for. The book that got me interested in reading was The Outsiders. We had to read it in middle school. Also, Forever by Judy Blume and Flowers In The Attic by V.C. Andrews has to be in the top three. I have read many great books over the years but those three have always stuck out for me. Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThis year I'm grateful for Spellbook of the Lost and Found. People haven't talked about it a lot but the whole atmosphere of it felt like it had been written just for me and it had amazing diversity and bisexual rep which is unfortunately still very rare!
ReplyDelete"What book(s) are you most thankful for having read, and why?" "Brave New World," because no more thoughtful, witty, and insightful book has ever been written!
ReplyDelete"What book(s) are you most thankful for having read, and why?" I might be going to say Hurt by Tabitha Suzuma, it really did open up my mind about sexual harrasment victims which those doesnt only happen to women, but also men. And it's such a fun read to get to know what's in men's brain after the intercourse.
ReplyDeleteThe Harry Potter series! I can live my imagination to the fullestš
ReplyDeleteThe Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons, because it was one of the most epic and heartbreaking book I have ever read. No book has gotten close to the epicness of that book.

I have also read Eva Kor's book Surviving the Angel of Death which is based on her own experiences. She is an inspirational women whom I am grateful to have exchanged emails with too.
