This week's haul!!
Books Purchased
I've been wanting to get this series,
and now I have!
Angels are so fascinating to read about...
The plots of these novels are all
so very intriguing, and
those covers just appeal to
the bibliophile in me!!
So I knew it was just a matter of time
before I got all three of these.
Now I need the fourth book,
Endless, which will be out in October!!
Embrace
(The Violet Eden Chapters #1)
Jessica Shirvington
Hardcover, 369 pages
Entice
(The Violet Eden Chapters #2)
Jessica Shirvington
Hardcover, 438 pages
Emblaze
(The Violet Eden Chapters #3)
Jessica Shirvington
Hardcover, 464 pages
I had never heard of this book before,
but the cover sure caught my eye!
It tells the story of a girl
who discovers she's descended from
women accused of witchcraft
in Salem, Massachusetts, in the 17th century.
Sounds riveting!
I found it in the same Barnes & Noble
store where I found the Shirvington books.
(Just look at all the blue!!!)
Spellbinding
Maya Gold
Trade Paperback, 272 pages
My favorite novel of all time is
the romantic classic,
Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte!
Although I don't like Emily's
novel, Wuthering Heights, at all,
I am completely fascinated
by the Bronte family,
and especially these two sisters!
So I was really happy
when I discovered this book,
which I ordered on Amazon right away!
Charlotte and Emily: A Novel
of the Brontes
Jude Morgan
Trade Paperback, 373 pages
The Harry Potter series is another
of my great favorites!
I love everything about these books --
the magical world, the characters,
Harry Potter himself...
I fully intend to read these books again!
This nonfiction analysis of
the themes and influences on the
HP novels seems to be nearly
as fascinating in itself!!
The Sorcerer's Companion:
A Guide to the Magical World of Harry Potter
Allan & Elizabeth Kronzek
Trade Paperback, 384 pages
I came across this rather enigmatic novel
while browsing on Goodreads,
and was immediately intrigued
and fascinated!
According to Goodreads,
this novel is "...a magical and moving story
of secrets and self-transformation,
ruses and rebirths, masterfully told
by a celebrated and accomplished author."
The Edge of the Earth
Christina Schwarz
Hardcover, 288 pages
What do you think of my haul?
What fascinating books did you
stack on your shelves
this week?
The Violet Eden Chapter books look great next to each other like that :) Enjoy!

The Edge of The Earth caught my eye straight away, Maria! Great eclectic choices as usual - hope you enjoy them all! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Edge of the Earth looks very intriguing. I hope that you read it soon and let us know whet you think about.
ReplyDeleteI have heard really good things about Charlotte and Emily. It seems that fiction about the lives of classic authors is very popular now. My only problem with that is I have not read enough of the actual work by the authors themselves!
I haven't heard of many of these but happy reading!

Great haul! Spellbinding sounds really good. I hope you enjoy everything. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard much about that series (although I've seen them here and there). I do love the covers, though. Happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteA nice haul! I really need to catch up on the Violet Eden series.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
