MIRA, THE HOPEBEARER
Mira Minkoba is on the run with her friends after a fiery escape from the Pit, where she’d been imprisoned for defending the dragons she loves. And she wants answers. Where have all the dragons been taken? Why are powerful noorestones being shipped to the mainland? And did the treaty she’s been defending her whole life truly sell out the Fallen Isles to their enemies?
MIRA, THE DRAGONHEARTED
As her connection to the dragons—and their power—grows stronger, so does Mira’s fear that she might lose control and hurt someone she loves. But the only way to find the truth is to go home again, to Damina, to face the people who betrayed her and the parents she’s not sure she can trust.
Home, where she must rise above her fears. Or be consumed.
The second page-turning novel in Jodi Meadows’ Fallen Isles trilogy scorches with mysterious magic and riveting romance as one girl kindles a spark into a flame.

Why I can't wait for this one!
I can't BELIEVE the second book in this series will be out soon!! (And, as usual, I haven't read the
first one yet.....lol.) It just seems that it was only yesterday that I featured Before She Ignites in my "Can't Wait Wednesday" post.... Sigh....
I took a look at this book's page on Goodreads, and it has a total of 745 reviews and 3,380 ratings!! So far. (I think I should rush over to Amazon with my debit card....)
Be sure to check out the first book, the one with all those reviews!!
Jodi Meadows lives and writes in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, with her husband, a cat, and an alarming number of ferrets. She is a confessed book addict and has wanted to be a writer ever since she decided against becoming an astronaut.

I really meant to read Before She Ignites when it first came out but then as usual I never did so *shrugs* xD But oh I love the cover of As She Ascends. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi, Steph!
DeleteYeah, same here! I even had BSI in a previous CWW post, about a year ago! LOL. I think this type of thing happens to a LOT of us bookworms..... :) :)
I LOVE this cover, too!! And the BSI cover, as well, although I much prefer blue to pink. :)
Hope we can both get to the two books!! Lol. Thanks for commenting!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
I haven't read this series yet, but it sounds interesting! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my WoW!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
Hi, Ronyell!
DeleteYeah, I need to start with the first book! Lol. :)
Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)
This series sounds interesting. It has been a long time since I read Anne McCaffrey‘s Dragon Riders of Pern Series. I think that it had a big influence on books like this. It is fascinating how for so many thousands of years people have been so interested in Dragons.
ReplyDeleteHi, Brian!
DeleteYeah, it SURE does!! I think it was McAffrey, as well as Tolkien, who first featured dragons in their novels. (I could be wrong, though.) And I STILL haven't read the Pern series..... :(
You know, Christopher Paolini, the author of The Inheritance Cycle -- "Eragon" is the first volume -- also had dragon riders featured in his series. But the idea of dragon riders was invented by McAffrey. Yet, Paolini's "Eragon" was made into a movie, and McAffrey's novels have NEVER been filmed, to my knowledge. Yet another case of a woman being ignored, in favor of a man..... McAffrey wrote her books WAY before Paolinit was even BORN. "Dragonflight" was published in 1968. "Eragon" was released in 2001. Paolini was born in 1983. This REALLY irks me!!!
Well, anyway, yeah, people have been interested in dragons for thousands of years. They're part of the myth and folklore of many countries. In the East, though, they're viewed as benevolent, while in the West, they are often seen as evil.
I REALLY need to read this series, starting with the first book!! Lol.
Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)
Woah that's quite the cover! Love the dragon tail and the two moons? Sounds like a fun series...
ReplyDeleteHi, Greg!
DeleteYeah, I LOVE both of these covers, although I much prefer the blue dress. Lol. But they are both striking, anyway!
Gotta read that first book! :)
Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)
I love those covers - the girl is stunning and as for the two moons - how clever to have the covers the same, but different! And this sounds like a fabulous series - thank you for sharing, Maria:).
ReplyDeleteHi, Sarah!
DeleteYeah, those are definitely VERY striking covers! I love the dresses (but especially the blue one), and those moons...what an interesting effect they create! And yes, the covers are the same, yet different. I think that adds to their appeal!
As you also mention, this does sound like a fabulous series! Both plots are unique and exciting!
You're very welcome for the sharing! Thanks to YOU for the nice comment!! <3 :0
We need to start a new trend - #NotReadBookOne. I am in the same boat as you but I have to admit, this book was falling along the wayside but now after seeing this one, I'm back on the I-Want-To-Read-It bandwagon. The cover is awesome as well.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well down that way. The boys say hello! WOOF WOOF.
Hi, Barb!
DeleteYeah, we SURE do need to start a new trend in reading!! LOL. You're so funny!! But we do keep wanting to read books in a series, without having read the first one yet. :) :)
I'm so glad to hear that you've put the first one back on the IWTRI bandwagon! :)
I LOVE both covers!! Except that I do slightly prefer the second one, because the dress is BLUE. As you know, that's my FAVORITE color!!
Both plots sound AWESOME, too!! Hmmm....maybe we should consider a buddy read, eh? :)
Yeah, we're doing pretty good. My vacation started last Thursday. Regular school starts on Aug. 13th, but we part-timers go back on Aug. 20th. However, we do have a faculty meeting on Aug. 16th. Well, I AM enjoying this vacation!! Hopefully, I'll be able to catch up on my blogging, AND reading!! :)
Say "Hello" back to the boys, and "WOOF, WOOF", TOO!! Thanks so much for commenting!! HUGS TO YOU ALL!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
It has been quite some time since I've read a Jodi Meadows book, but I absolutely love the beautiful and magical stories that she has to tell. This book looks like it's going to be such a gorgeous read, the cover is stunning and you had me at dragons!
ReplyDeleteIf you get the chance, come by my blog and check out my Can't-Wait Wednesday post.
Suz @ Bookish Revelations
Hi, Susan!
DeleteYou know, I've never read one of Meadows's books, although I've seen them mentioned on other blogs. The covers are usually STUNNING! (I'm thinking of the Newsoul trilogy.)
I LOVE dragons myself! So of course I want to read this new series!! I'll have to start with the first book, though! Lol.
I've already checked out your own CWW post, and I LOVE your pick!! I've already added it to my Goodreads shelves!!
Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)

I'm glad you're excited about both books! The plots sound AWESOME, and those covers....they're STUNNING!!
Hope you enjoy them both!! Thanks for commenting!! <3 :)
