Welcome to "Waiting On Wednesday"!!
This is a weekly event that
used to be hosted by
Jill @ Breaking the Spine, until
very recently.
I have continued to publish these
posts on my own, as I really
like this meme, which
showcases future releases we book bloggers are eagerly anticipating!!
Here's my choice for this week!
Traitor To The Trone
Hardcover, 528 pages
Viking Books for Young Readers
March 7, 2017
Fantasy, Young Adult Fiction
The sizzling, un-put-downable sequel to the bestselling Rebel of the Sands!
Mere months ago, gunslinger Amani al'Hiza fled her dead-end hometown on the back of a mythical horse with the mysterious foreigner Jin, seeking only her own freedom. Now she's fighting to liberate the entire desert nation of Miraji from a bloodthirsty sultan who slew his own father to capture the throne.
When Amani finds herself thrust into the epicenter of the regime—the Sultan's palace—she's determined to bring the tyrant down. Desperate to uncover the Sultan's secrets by spying on his court, she tries to forget that Jin disappeared just as she was getting closest to him, and that she's a prisoner of the enemy. But the longer she remains, the more she questions whether the Sultan is really the villain she's been told he is, and who’s the real traitor to her sun-bleached, magic-filled homeland.
Forget everything you thought you knew about Miraji, about the rebellion, about djinni and Jin and the Blue-Eyed Bandit. In Traitor to the Throne, the only certainty is that everything will change.

Why I'm waiting on this one!
I LOVE how frequently YA novels feature kick-butt heroines!! I already have the first volume in this series, too, so I'd better get to it before March! Lol. Another reason I know I'll enjoy reading this series is that it takes place in a very "Scheherazade" type of setting! For those who have never heard of this woman, she was the legendary queen who told the stories of "A Thousand and One Nights". I want to really get going on this series!!
The first book in this great series!!

Hi, Amy!
DeleteI much prefer the one for the first book. Oh, well....
I know I'm going to enjoy both books!!

AAHHHHH MY FAVOURITES! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL TO COME OUT! I loved the first one so much! Here's mine: http://editingeverything.com/blog/2016/12/14/waiting-wednesday-secret-science-magic/
ReplyDeleteHi, Verushka!
DeleteOh, I'm SO glad you loved the first book so much!! That tells me I NEED to get to it as soon as I possibly can!! I'm sure the second one will be just as good, or perhaps even better!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a great comment!! <3 :)
Eeee, so excited to read this book! I was a little skeptical about the cover change, because I really liked the original design (and the original design before that), but I like this new design too. I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week, Maria. :)
Check out my WoW post!
Hi, Alyssa!
DeleteWOW! People are REALLY excited about this series!! I REALLY need to get to it!!
You know, I had no idea the second book had a different cover before. I'm going to go check it out. This new one doesn't match the cover of the first book, and, to be honest, I don't like it much.
I know I'll enjoy both books!! I just need to get started on the first one pretty soon -- like maybe at the beginning of the year!! Lol.
Hope you have a fabulous week, too!!
Thanks for swinging by and leaving such a great comment!! <3 :)
I need to start this series because the sequel sounds even better than the first. I'm sort of liking the new cover, but I bet it will drive some people crazy that they are different. Nice choice! Sorry it took so long to visit this week!
ReplyDeleteHi, Barb!
DeleteI need to start this series, too, especially after the excitement I got in the previous comments!! I guess I'll get to the first book next year. Lol. I do own it.
I'm one of those people who is really going crazy about the cover change, and I haven't even seen the previous cover yet! Lol. But I HATE it when book covers in a series don't match. The first book has an abstract cover with a VERY beautiful design. Now the second book has a realistic cover. WTH?! I will NEVER understand WHY publishers do this sort of thing. Don't they care about us fans? Obviously not, right?
Anyway.....the story is definitely TERRIFIC, so of course I'll go ahead and buy the book! Glad you like my choice!!
No worries on commenting late; I have the same problem pretty often, lol.
Thanks for the visit and the nice comment!! <3 :)
