From the Goodreads Synopsis
Verity Grey abandons her comfortable job at the British Museum to seek adventure on an archaeological dig in the wilds of Scotland. But when she arrives on site, she discovers that the excavation is being led by a discredited and eccentric old man who has forsaken scientific evidence. Instead, the entire team is following the word of a local boy who claims that he saw a ghostly Roman soldier in the fields...
Now doesn't this sound like an
absolutely riveting plot?
The story is full of puzzling
paranormal elements, and the field
where the archaelogical dig is
taking place is misty, and steeped
in eerie mystery...
I'm wondering if Verity will be
having a romance with that
ghostly Roman soldier...
Of course, I love paranormal
romances of that sort!
Another factor attracting me to this book
is that the story takes place in Scotland,
is that the story takes place in Scotland,
that fey land some of my ancestors
hail from...
What do you think of my choice?
What mysteriously
fascinating books
are you all languishing for
this week?

my wow
I understand that the plot involves looking for atitifects from a lost Roman legion and ghosts. Some of the best ghost stories involve a dollop of history. Scotland is a great place for such a tale. When you add ancient Romans you get a mix that does sound like a great book!
