But, as I explained in the post, I really don't like any sort of pressure where reading is concerned. In fact, I'm dropping out of that reading challenge I'm currently "participating" in. Lol. The irony is that the blogger hosting this challenge had not been Maria Beharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13635809880830316283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5276110560172164522.post-632400879985289302016-09-11T07:47:49.661-04:002016-09-11T07:47:49.661-04:00nice post thank you for sharing :)nice post thank you for sharing :)decsnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04723142116103295981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5276110560172164522.post-11103638370463868222016-09-11T00:29:55.809-04:002016-09-11T00:29:55.809-04:00What a great argument you make for not setting rea...What a great argument you make for not setting reading goals! I can definitely understand why you don't. We each get our inspiration and fun in different ways. While I do like to take on reading challenges now and then, my success rate is probably about 75% or so (a totally unscientific guess, by the way). I hate setting numeric goals when it comes to my reading, but admit I have done so withLiterary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5276110560172164522.post-33617221165052901472016-09-10T13:36:57.949-04:002016-09-10T13:36:57.949-04:00Hi, Elizabeth!

Thanks so much for the compliment, by the way!! :)

It takes me at least a week -- and frequently longer -- to read a book, and that's if it's not too long. It is indeed important to really enjoy a book, and reading slowly allows you to do that. Still, I do wish I could read a little faster....lol.

You can read five books a month?! I can't even read that many! I could NEVER read that many pages in 1 to 2 hours! Lol. The only way I could read a book in such a short time period is if it were way shorter than, say, 200 pages, and it would have to be TOTALLY AWESOME for that to happen!

Although reading slowly Maria Beharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13635809880830316283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5276110560172164522.post-7858671026020995582016-09-10T13:10:02.924-04:002016-09-10T13:10:02.924-04:00Hey, Brian!

Besides, as I stated in the post, some books do take longer to read than others, so there's really no point to setting goals, as one can never be sure when they will be met.

As for quality over Maria Beharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13635809880830316283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5276110560172164522.post-17054301902973913582016-09-09T12:43:02.757-04:002016-09-09T12:43:02.757-04:00LOL on your answer. That is sooo great! I can speed read, but don't always want to and lately it is none existent. If I manage 5 books A MONTH at the moment, I am happy. I do set a reading goal, but just for fun. I have decided however, to never again set reading challenges for specific books. I cannot imagine reading under the pressure of goals!

As for your way of reading, I think that it might be better then what some others to. Good writing is a wondrous thing.
