After battling a sleeping sickness, The Diviners are up against a group of new and malevolent foes--ghosts! Out in Ward's Island sits a mental hospital full of lost souls from people long forgotten. Ghosts who have unusual and dangerous ties to the Man in the Stovepipe Hat also known as the King of Crows.

With terrible accounts of murder and possession flooding in from all over New York City, the Diviners must band together and brave the ghosts haunting the asylum to bring down the King of Crows.

Why I can't wait for this one!

Well, this sure sounds like an EXCITING book!! I hope there isn't too much scary stuff in it..... However, I've heard only GREAT things about Bray, and this series is supposed to be top-notch! So I think I'll give it a go! (Of course, I do need to start from the beginning....lol.)

Here are the two previous
books in this series!!

TEN THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME
by Libba Bray

1. I lived in Texas until I was 26 years old, then I moved to New York City with $600.00 in my shoe ('cause muggers won't take it out of your shoe, y'know . . . riiiiight . . .) and a punchbowl (my grandmother's gift) under my arm. I ended up using the punchbowl box as an end table for two years.

2. My dad was a Presbyterian minister. Yes, I am one of those dreaded P.K.s–Preacher's Kids. Be afraid. Be very afraid . . .

3. The first story I ever wrote, in Mrs. McBee's 6th grade English class, was about a girl whose family is kidnapped and held hostage by a murderous lot of bank robbers who intend to kill the whole family–including the dog–until the 12-year-old heroine foils the plot and saves the day. It included colored pencil illustrations of manly-looking, bearded criminals smoking, and, oblivious to the fact that The Beatles had already sort of laid claim to the title, I called my novel, HELP. My mom still has a copy. And when I do something she doesn't like, she threatens to find it.

4. My favorite word is "redemption." I like both its meaning and the sound. My least favorite word is "maybe." "Maybe" is almost always a "no" drawn out in cruel fashion.

5. My three worst habits are overeating, self-doubt, and the frequent use of the "f" word.

6. The three things I like best about myself are my sense of humor, my ability to listen, and my imagination.

7. I have an artificial left eye. I lost my real eye in a car accident when I was eighteen. In fact, I had to have my entire face rebuilt because I smashed it up pretty good. It took six years and thirteen surgeries.

8. In 7th grade, my three best friends and I dressed up as KISS and walked around our neighborhood on Halloween. Man, we were such dorks.

9. I once spent New Year's Eve in a wetsuit. I'd gone to the party in a black dress that was a little too tight (too many holiday cookies) and when I went to sit down, the dress ripped up the back completely. Can we all say, mortified? The problem was, my friends were moving out of their house–everything was packed and on a truck–and there was nothing I could put on . . . but a wetsuit that they still had tacked to the wall. I spent the rest of the party maneuvering through throngs of people feeling like a giant squid.

10. I got married in Florence, Italy. My husband and I were in love but totally broke, so we eloped and got married in Italy, where he was going on a business trip. We had to pull a guy off the street to be our witness. It was incredibly romantic.

    1. Hi, Verushka!

She's pretty well-known n the YA genre. I've been meaning to start reading Bray's Gemma Doyle trilogy, which I've owned for quite some time now, lol. The three books are: "A Great and Terrible Beauty", "Rebel Angels", and "The Sweet Far Thing". So I might start with those.

Thanks for commenting!! Have a great day!! <3 :)

  2. I've not read this series but really want to. I love the facts about Libba Bray. If you've never read Going Bovine you should. I picked it up at the library once because of the cover and loved every minute I spent reading it. I think the covers are all rather disjointed though and wish they have stayed more true to the original vibe.

    1. Hi, Barb!

Although I've heard a lot of good things about this author, I STILL haven't read any of her books! And I do own her Gemma Doyle trilogy....sigh....

"Going Bovine"? Well, I've just looked it up on Goodreads, and it does sound interesting. I just might give it a try. Thanks for the rec!!

Yeah, I hear you about the covers! The same thing happened with Andrea Cremer's Nightshade series.... That first cover is GORGEOUS, and they completely changed the style of the second one! So the covers no longer matched.... AAARRRHHHHHH!! I read on the Internet how many, many fans wrote to the publisher to complain about this totally RIDICULOUS change, but to no avail.... You can see for yourself if you check out Cremer's profile on Goodreads. The covers JUST.DO.NOT.MATCH. *shakes head in disbelief*

Are you surprised that I picked a book with such a creepy cover? Lol. The thing is, I didn't really notice the image on it. It was all that BEAUTIFUL BLUE that pulled me in! Lol. As for the title, I took it as a promise that the devil would NOT win out in the end!! :) :) :)

Thanks for always dropping by and commenting on my CWW post!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU & YOUR FUR BABIES!! HUGS!!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

    1. Hi, Amy!

Yeah, you're right -- this IS a creepy cover! As I told Barb and Ronyell in my replies to their comments, I really didn't notice the image on the cover. I just focused on all that GORGEOUS, ELECTRIC BLUE!!! You see, blue is my favorite color! Lol.

Thanks for always commenting on my CWW posts!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to your mom tomorrow!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

  5. I haven't started the Diviners series yet, but I have collected the first two books. I want to start it when it's complete! I love the creepy cover (but you know I like creepy, lol), and you have me really wanting to start these sooner than I had planned. I think I have fallen in love with the author based on the facts about her, which I just love that you included. You made this such an informative post, and I appreciate it so much. Wonderful choice! I hope that we both love this series when we get to read it :) *HUGS* <3 <3 <3

    1. Hi, Michele!!!

I haven't started this series, either.... I know it's supposed to be GREAT, though! But yeah, I do agree with you that it would be better to start it when it's actually complete.

To be honest, I had not really noticed just how creepy this cover is! Lol. All I saw was ALL THAT BLUE!! Hahaha!! As you know, blue is my absolutely FAVORITE color, so every time I see it on a book cover, it's INSTA-LOVE!! Lol.

Yeah, her bio is a load of fun! I love the way she wrote it!

You're very welcome for all the information! I never used to include an author bio on these posts, but then one day, I decided to. Why? Because the author I was featuring was VERY cute, lol. In fact, he looks a LOT like Pierce Brosnan. Lol!! So then, since I included a bio for HIM, I thought it was only fair to do so for other authors, too, from then on.

BTW, the author's name is Sebastian de Castell. The book he wrote is titled "Spellslinger". You can check out that post at the following link:

      http://anightsdreamofbooks.blogspot.com/2017/03/cant-wait-wednesday-no-7-spellslinger.html

Or you can just go back to March 8 on my blog, and take a look at that post. You'll see what I mean about the author looking like Pierce!!

I KNOW we will both LOVE this book when it comes out!!

      Thank you for such a sweet, lovely comment!! *SMOOOOSHY HUGS BACK* <3 <3 <3 <3 :) :) :) :)
