Perfect for fans of Shadow and Bone and Red Queen, The Crown’s Fate is the thrilling sequel to the New York Times bestselling The Crown’s Game, an atmospheric historical fantasy set in Imperial Russia.

Russia is on the brink of great change. Pasha’s coronation approaches, and Vika is now the Imperial Enchanter, but the role she once coveted may be more difficult—and dangerous—than she ever expected.

Pasha is grappling with his own problems—his legitimacy is in doubt, the girl he loves loathes him, and he believes his best friend is dead. When a challenger to the throne emerges—and with the magic in Russia growing rapidly—Pasha must do whatever it takes to keep his position and protect his kingdom.

For Nikolai, the ending of the Crown’s Game stung deeply. Although he just managed to escape death, Nikolai remains alone, a shadow hidden in a not-quite-real world of his own creation. But when he’s given a second chance at life—tied to a dark price—Nikolai must decide just how far he’s willing to go to return to the world.

With revolution on the rise, dangerous new magic rearing up, and a tsardom up for the taking, Vika, Nikolai, and Pasha must fight—or face the destruction of not only their world but also themselves.

Why I can't wait for this one!

I missed the first book in this series when it was released.....but I'm well aware that it was a HUGE hit! Besides, the cover was GORGEOUS! Well, I LOVE this cover, too! And anything set in Imperial Russia (I ADORE Leigh Bardugo!!) will get me all excited and cheering for sure!! So I'm now catching the train with this second book!!

  2. Hey Maria -

The fact that this is set in Imperial Russia makes the series sound very unique. There is so much uniformity in this genre that it is nice to see that an author is doing things a little differently.

I also like both book covers a lot.

    Have great week!

    1. Hey, Brian!

That's precisely the main reason I'm interested in this series -- the fact that it's set in Imperial Russia. There's another fantasy series with the same setting, too, written by Leigh Bardugo. It's known as The Grisha Trilogy. I've only read the first book -- "Shadow and Bone" -- and need to continue with the other two. Of course, there are differences between the two series, but both do have the same setting.

Those book covers are GREAT! I like how the buildings have been arranged to form a crown!

Thanks for the nice comment!! :) :) :)

  3. I've not read this series but it sounds pretty interesting and I don't think I've read a book set in Russia. I really need to branch out. I always liked the cover of the first book but I LOVE this cover. I hope you like them both when you finally get to them.

Hope you're having an awesome week!

    1. Hi, Barb!

Oh, this DEFINITELY sounds very interesting! The Grisha Trilogy, of which I've only read the first book, "Shadow and Bone", is also set in Imperial Russia.

Yes, both covers are GREAT! I can't decide which one I like best, though. Lol.

I know I'll LOVE these books when I get to them!

Hope you're having an awesome week, too!!

Thanks for the nice comment!! <3 :)
