Long before she was the terror of Wonderland — the infamous Queen of Hearts — she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.

Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the yet-unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts with delectable pastries and confections. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next Queen.

At a royal ball where Cath is expected to receive the king's marriage proposal, she meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship.

Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

Why I'm waiting on this one!

The great Marissa Meyer has done it again!
This new novel sounds like an
AWESOME, exciting retelling of that
childhood classic, Alice In Wonderland,
although it tells the story of one
of the story's villains -- the Queen of Hearts.
I'd sure like to know what she was like
before she became so mean!
I'm very much looking forward to this novel!!

    1. Hi, there!

Well.....I have a little confession to make....I haven't read any of her books yet, either! But I know she's great, based on all the reviews that rave about her books. So I want to read the ones I have yet to read, plus this one! Lol.

You're very welcome for the share! Thanks for commenting!! :)

  4. I really like it when books feature different information/retellings about villains. I don't know exactly why but I seem drawn to them. Have we heard this is the start of a new series or is it a stand alone - I think I have heard both. Hope we both love it and thanks for featuring it!

    1. Hi, Barb!

I like that, too! It gives us readers greater insights on why and how these villains decided to do evil things.

This novel is not listed as the beginning of a series, but I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually became one.

I know we'll both enjoy this book!

You're very welcome for the feature! Thanks for commenting!! :)
