I selected Colony Earth (and I'm interested in the sequels, too) because I love the science fiction genre!  Also, I think it's very interesting that mythology is part of the plot.  It sure sounds like this will be a fascinating series!

As for the character picture, I think Mr. Spock is the obvious, logical choice for a character that would fit in the plot of this book.  As the Chief Science Officer for the Starship "Enterprise", his main duty is to analyze and compute all pertinent science data for the starship's missions in space.  Therefore, his input would have been most valuable to the advanced technological civilization that originally interacted with the ancient Sumerians.  His approach to a problem, whether of a scientific or political nature, is always logical, but he is most willing to improvise new, thoroughly thought-out alternatives if new problems arise.

These are the sequels, also part
of The May Book Festival!!

  1. Colony Earth looks amazing. If I have it right it goes back and speculates on events that led to human development. It looks like it digs fairly deep into society and culture. Such is the stuff of great science fiction. Lately I have been thinking a lot about how our civilizations developed so this seems doubly interesting.

What can I say about your choice of Spock! Perfect! Of course, I would just add to your description, that deep down Spock seems to have lots of emotions, that come out at interesting times as they would no doubt do in this situation.

    Live Long and Prosper Maria!

    1. Hey, Brian!

Yes, it does! However, the whole idea of this series is not new. There's a nonfiction writer named Zechariah Sitchin who has written a whole series of books dealing with this topic. The series is known as "The Earth Chronicles", beginning with a book titled "The 12th Planet", and ending with the third, titled "The Wars of Gods and Men". However, Sitchin wrote more books after that. There's one titled "The Lost Book of Enki: Memories and Prophecies of an Extraterrestrial God". Notice the name "Enki", which Regina Joseph mentions as the name of one of her characters. Two others, Enlil and Anu, are also mentioned by Sitchin. However, I'm still interested in reading these books, since there are intriguing fiction elements that would come into play. So I'm looking forward to that!

As for the inclusion of Spock, well, it seemed only LOGICAL to put him in there somehow. LOL. But seriously, he could definitely fit in there very well, as an alien scientific advisor, don't you think? And you're right about his emotions, they would have to come out at some point!

Thanks for such a TERRIFIC comment!! You live long and prosper, too!! :)
