Book Blogger Hop #5 (8/6 - 8/8)

HAPPY WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!

This is a very interesting book meme!
It's hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books,
and runs every week,
from Friday to Monday.

Be sure to check out her blog for
the hop participation rules!

Here's this week’s question:

What is the one ARC you would love to
get your hands on right now?

Well, there are actually TWO books I'd love
to get my hands on!!!  *

Here's the first:

Lisa T. Bergren
Trade Paperback, 352 pages
Published by David C. Cook
Expected Release Date: Sept. 1, 2011
Genre: YA Science Fantasy, Christian Fiction,
Romance

From the Goodreads Synopsis

When Gabi and Lia finally learn to surf the river of time, they realize they must make hard choices about life and love in the third and final book in the River of Time series.   Gabi and Lia Betarrini have learned to control their time travel, and they return from medieval Italy to save their father from his tragic death in modern times.   But love calls across the centuries, and the girls are determined to return forever—even though they know the Black Plague is advancing across Europe, claiming the lives of one-third of the population. In the suspenseful conclusion of the River of Time series, every decision is about life … and death.

i have just finished the second volume, Cascade,
in this super exciting series!!!
I can barely wait for the release date to arrive,
so I can find out how the whole adventure ends!!!
Will the Betarrini family choose to remain in 14th-century Italy?
Will they -- just speculating here -- decide
to bring their Italian hotties smack
into the 21st century?

Lisa Bergren has woven an utterly compelling tale,
full of wonderful characters the reader
cannot help but come to love as family...

Not only am I desperate to read the finale,
but my mind is now screaming,
"Movies!  Movies!  Movies!!!!!!"

And here's the second book:

Jennifer Anne Kogler
Hardcover, 384 pages
Published by Walker Books for Young Readers
Expected Release Date: August 16, 2011
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy

From the Goodreads Synopsis

On her fourteenth Halloween, Lizzy Mortimer sees her first death-specter.

Confused at first, Lizzy soon learns from her grandmother Bizzy that as Death Catchers, they must prevent fate from taking its course when an unjust death is planned-a mission that has been passed down from their ancestor, Morgan le Fay. Only, Lizzy doesn't expect one of her first cases to land her in the middle of a feud older than time between Morgan le Fay and her sister Vivienne le Mort. Vivienne hopes to hasten the end of the world by preventing Lizzy from saving King Arthur's last descendant-humanity's greatest hope for survival. It's up to Lizzy, as Morgan's earthly advocate, to outwit fate before it's too late.

With its unique spin on Arthurian legend, this fresh, smartly written story will stand out in the paranormal genre.

Although this book will be out in only 10 days,
I really wish I had an ARC of it
right this very minute!!

Any book that has something to do with
the Arthurian legends is sure to be
a compelling read for me!
I love all of the King Arthur stories!!

Furthermore, I think this cover is gorgeous!!
It reminds me strongly of the Harry Potter series,
not just because of the design,
but also because of the book's title.
Other fans of Rowling's series will most likely
notice the similarity of this title
to the 'Death Eaters' who were members
of Voldemort's evil army.

I guess I'll just have to wait....

But I'm on pins and needles here!!

So what ARCs would you all
love to have right now?

* This post has been altered since it was first published; I have added Torrent, the third and final book in The River of Time series.

  3. If I could get my hands on an ARC, I would say Torrent! I actually was able to read a pdf copy of the book, but that's NOTHING like holding an ARC or an actually copy in your hands. I feel soooo deprived! :-P lol Needless to say, this is one book that I MUST get as soon as I am able!!

  5. I'm dying for a copy of "Shatter Me" by Tahereh Mafi. I want one so bad! It sounds like such a good book! If you haven't seen the trailer for it yet, you should really check it out.

Also, "The Daughter of Smoke and Bone" sounds very interesting. I would love a copy of it, too. As if the turquoise mask against the black and white background didn't catch my attention, I am drawn to anything masqurade.
