On My Wishlist #1

This is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City,
 and runs every Saturday.

Each participating blogger features books
s/he hasn't actually bought yet, but desperately wants to read,
because the stories sound so very fascinating!

These books can be either newly-published,
to be released in the near future,
or they might have been in print for several years.

In my particular case, any books I place
on my wish list are strictly the print versions,
since I do not read, or review, ebooks.

I'm thrilled to be participating!!

Here's my own list of books I shamelessly covet!!

Maurissa Guibord
Hardcover, 352 pages
Published by Delacorte Books
January 11, 2011
Genre: YA Fantasy, Romance

Synopsis

Tessa doesn't believe in magic, until she discovers an ancient unicorn tapestry, and accidentally pulls one of the threads, releasing a centuries-old secret.  Then she meets the mesmerizing William de Chauncy, a 16th-century nobleman...  Needless to say, she has to revise her entire belief system!

Hannah Howell, Lynsay Sands
Trade Paperback, 304 pages
Published by Kensington
September 1, 2007
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Synopsis

This one combines two novellas by bestselling authors Hannah Howell and Lynsay Sands.  Set in the Scottish Highlands, the plots follow two heroes who are dwellers of the night, and who find love with two very uncommon women willing to accept them in spite of their supernatural thirst...

Veronica Roth
Hardcover, 487 pages
Published by Katherine Tegen Books
May 3, 2011
Genre: YA Dystopian Fiction, Romance

Synopsis

I will try my hardest to acquire this one ASAP, because I've seen it featured on several blogs, and everyone seems to be raving about it !  The plot deals with a dystopian Chicago, in which there are five factions, each dedicated to a particular virtue.   On a selected day of every year, each 16-year-old citizen must select one of these factions to belong to, dedicating the rest of their lives to it.  For Beatrice, the protagonist of the novel, the choice is between staying with her family, and being true to herself.  She must also deal with her attraction to a fascinating boy who complicates matters...

Joss Stirling
Trade Paperback, 320 pages
Published by DUP Oxford
Expected Release: October, 2011
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

Synopsis

I already own Finding Sky, which is by the same author, and this one looks just as fascinating!  Phoenix is the character in the title (Stirling did the same thing with her previous novel), and she's a member of the Community, a gang of thieves with paranormal powers, who live in London, England.  She sure doesn't sound too promising as a heroine,so let me hasten to add that the Community owns her, which means she's not a willing participant in their acts of thievery.  Besides, she meets Yves Benedict, who is supposed to be her mark, and turns out to be much more -- her soul mate.

Kelly Beltz
Trade Paperback, 494 pages
Published by BookSurge Publishing
September 29, 2009
Genre: Science Fiction, Romance

Synopsis

Samantha Gerris is a physicist working for SIG (Space Island Group), and is involved in the design of a luxurious space resort.  Based on Earth, she is forced to travel out into space after tragedy disrupts her life.  Once at the resort, she accidentally boards an alien starship, and is taken to their home world, where she not only discovers a fascinating new culture, but true love, as well.

Well, there you have it!
These are the books on my wish list this week.
What fascinating reads do you have
on your list?

  3. Cool meme! I loved Divergent, and thought Warped was pretty good (sorta so-so). Stealing Phoenix sounds fascinating-- going to have to check out Finding Sky! Anyway, hope you get to check all these books off your wishlist soon enough. :)

  5. Hey ther, Kat!! Yeah, this is a wonderful meme, from Book Chick City! I just found out about it! Hope you decide to hop on, too!

Yeah, "Divergent" has a really good reputation, from what I've seen other blogs. Now that I remember, yours was one of them. As for "Warped", it sounds so very fascinating! You sound a bit lukewarm about it, but I'll try it out, anyway.

And yes, I'm just dying to get my hands on all these books!!

BTW, I got "Findind Sky" through eBay, although, if I remember correctly, it's also available on Amazon.

Thanks for the comment!! You's so sweet! : )

  6. Hi, Dea!

Yes, I'm just hopping to get a hold of "Divergent"!! Although I do want all of these books, "Divergent" is at the top of the list. I really should have put it at the top of the list on the post itself. What I did was start to copy and paste the book covers I was able to get to first, from my PC's picture file. So the order I put the books in has nothing to do with which one I want to get the most. Lol.

Thanks for the comment and the follow!!! I'm gonna go check out your blog! : )
